Sadly, the article's headline ignores mothers who are not the main day-to-day carer and continues to refer to fathers who are not the main day-to-day carer as being 'absentee'...

Putting Children First discussion form launched (Sat, 22 Nov 2008)
Today sees the launch of a new discussion forum for Putting Children First: best practice in support to separated families hosted by the Centre for Separated Families. The forum is a space for policy makers, practitioners, academics and others to discuss and comment on the key themes that emerged from the Putting Children First conference. There is a page for each of the key recommendations together with a page for general discussion topics around best practice. Please join in the debate and bring your experience and expertise to the discussion.

The Putting Children First round-table discussion meeting with policy makers, practitioners and academics was held yesterday in east London. The meeting discussed the recommendations put forward in the Best Practice conference paper and looked at them in the context of existing services. Following further discussion, the paper will be put forward to government for consideration and implementation.
