Joined up but not joining in

Working with separated families is not easy, particularly if you are attempting to help parents to build co-operative relationships. It takes more than joined up delivery to make sure that your services reach the parents who need them.

Drawing upon ten years of expertise in working with both parents, the Centre for Separated Families offers a one day training course on the planning and delivery of successful strategies to support separating parents.

The training includes:

  • Experiential learning - challenging personal assumptions about separated families
  • Gender awareness – changing thinking about separated families
  • Cultural learning – building new ways of working with separated families
  • Practical strategies – planning to meet the different needs of mothers and fathers

The outcome of the training is that participants are prepared to plan and deliver services that meet the real needs of separated families rather than the perceived needs. As a result, the take up of your services by both parents is increased and co-operation between parents is improved.

The Centre has a proven track record in helping parents to build co-operative relationships after separation and regularly works with other agencies such as the Child Maintenance Commission to help them improve services to both parents. This one day training can help you to do the same.

In house training costs £90 per delegate. For more information, call 0845 478 6360 or email info@separatedfamilies.org.uk
